Below are pictures of the old log church housed inside the stone building shown in the left margin and at the top of this page.  It is the largest one-room log structure in the United States.  It was modified over the years, but originally built in 1791.  To put that in perspective, it was 15 years after the Declaration of Independence was signed and 1 year before Kentucky became a state. The community of Cane Ridge was so named by Daniel Boone because of the large cane break which grew there. The church was built in what was then the territory of Virginia.
